The secret to our success is the care we take into creating each map. We have a process to artificially age the paper to give the maps a certain patina. Customers love the wrinkles and spots that really gives them character. The maps are so much more interesting than just a flat print off the press.  

Most customers prefer a framed map. The frames are lightweight and have a rustic appearance. For the shop owner consider who your customer is. If most of your customers are local people, then the framed maps are the way to go, but keep a couple prints of the most popular maps on hand.

Some customers want to find their own frame. If most of your customers are traveling, we find they don’t want to stuff a framed map in their luggage, and they prefer a print.  Each map is placed inside a clear bag with a backing.   I have been told that some customers just tape the bagged print right on the wall.

The most popular maps are always maps the show the whole state. Consider stocking higher quantities for state maps. Maps of local interest also do very well, but be careful and try out a couple at a time. We have noticed that people will buy local interest maps that correspond to a vacation area within the state.   If you don't see a local interest map listed on the site, let us know and we will add it for you. 

Men love our maps. Women buy the maps. About 65% of our customers are women age 18 to 70. Most of them are buying it as a present for a man.  Christmas and Father’s Day are the two most important holidays to stock up for. 

Each map has its own unique GS1 UPS barcode label on the back of the product. The label also includes the PTM item code and a brief description that includes the published date. There is no need to create your own barcodes, most POS systems allow you to use the UPC code. 

While ordering on our web site is the simplest way to order, we also can take orders on the phone or through email. Just include the PTM item code and quantity. The codes for prints are the same as on the website, for framed maps just add a F to the end of the code. (PTM003F)
