Beginnings
I have always loved collecting and looking at old maps. I had a copy of the 1866 Indian Territory map taped to a file cabinet in my office. A co-worker came by and really liked it. When he retired, I decided to make a frame and give it as a retirement present. I also framed one for myself. A friend of mine saw it and said wow you can sell that in my booth. It sold right away and I realized this could be a good home-based business. That was 10 years ago. The maps have been wildly popular in Oklahoma. Now we are expanding into other states. Our Customers
In the last ten years I have met so many nice people who just love our state. I have learned so much history from countless stories from people buying a map. I have seen tears of joy when they found a map showing a long-lost town that their family was from. When people first see our maps, the common responses are “these are so cool” or “wow these are beautiful”. It is not unusual for customers to spend a lot of time trying to decide which one to buy. The maps usually end up being displayed in offices or dens of a Brother, Father, favorite Uncle or Grandfather. I have also noticed a tend in young people wanting to display their state pride by hanging them in their bed room or dorm.
Penney loves being outdoors
When I started the business I decided to name the company after the best dog I have ever had. Penney is my constant companion. She follows me everywhere. She hates to take a bath, but she loves to swim. I am pretty sure she is part Lab, but she is small, only 45 Lbs. The perfect dog. I just love her so much.
